IMPORTANT NEWS - MUST READ

NEW Price List from TP...

Be careful on the road. It's not cheap.
Price increase without further notice.

Speeding:
Exceeding 1 - 20km/h = $130 + 4 demerit points.
Exceeding 21 - 30km/h = $150 + 6 demerit points.
Exceeding 31 - 40km/h = $180 + 8 demerit points.
Exceeding 41 - 50km/h = >$200 + 12 demerit points + Court.
Exceeding 51 - 60km/h = >$200 + 18 demerit points + Court.
Exceeding >61km/h = >$200 + 24 demerit points + Court.


If you want to be hero and fight the court case yourself, and you lose, you pay the court charges yourself, which will add up to your fine.
I guess the court charges is at le! ast $200 and above.

Careless driving = $150 + 6 demerit Points.
Inconsiderate Driving = $170 + 9 Demerit Points + Court.
Dangerous Driving = >$200 + 24 Demerit Points + Court + Vehicle Compounded
Illegal Racing = >$200 + Vehicle Confiscate + Court.
Fail to put Seat Belt = $120 + 3 demerit points .
Crossing Double White lines = $130 + 4 points.
Phone and Drive = $200 + 12 demerit point + Phone Confiscate.
Do not hold your hp in your hand when you drive even with loud speaker or ear piece.

Drink Driving
For first offence. = Up to $5000 Fine and, or jail Term + License Suspended + Court.
2nd time offence = Jail term + Fine + Court.
Making an i! llegal U Turn when there ' s no U Turn sign = $70.
Fail to Signal when changing lanes = $70.
Driving at night without headlights or taillights switch on after 7pm = $30.
No Number Plate = $70
Obstructed Number Plate = $70.
Obscured Number Plate = $70.
Number Plate Of Unapproved Type = $70.

As for Demerit Point system:
Let ' s say you have 0 points on 1st January 2006, and you committed the offence of Failing to Put on Seat Belt.
So now, you will have 3 demerit points and this will last for 1 Year. If during this 1 year you have no demerit points offence at all, your 3 demerit points will be gone on 1/1/200 7. But, if during this one year, From 1/1/2006 - 1/1/2007 , you committed another offence with demerit points, your very first offence will be extended for another year until 1/1/2008 .

SINGAPORE: Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates are set to go up by S$0.50 starting 4 February, according to the Land Transport Authority.

At the Bukit Timah Expressway gantry, motorists will be charged S$1.00 from 7.30am to 8am, and S$1.50 from 8am to 8.30am.

At the Central Expressway (CTE) gantry north of Braddell Road, ERP rates will go up to S$1.00 for those driving from 7.00am to 7.30am. The same charge applies to those driving along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) at Adam Road from 8am to 8.30am.

Those going through the nine gantries at Orchard Road, the YMCA and Fort Canning gantries will have to fork out S$1.00 on weekdays from 7pm to 8pm. The same charge applies for those gantries on Saturday afternoons as well, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. - CNA/ac

It doesn't matter which country you are in, but it looks as if most governments treat motorists as convenient cash cows that can be milked and milked and milked.

Your demerit points system looks like its modeled on those used in most states in Australia. It is not popular here, and opinion remains divided as to its effectiveness in improving road safety. Recent stats show that in Victoria lone, there are over 35,000 motorists who are within 2 points of losing their license. Its not a good feeling getting into your car if you are in that sort of situation.

Its rated the one of the best in the US and can detected various bands such as K and etc...

I haven't tried it out on that fu cker yet but will let you know if I did and whether it works! LOL

Info for those frequently riding up down pasir panjang. They installed two speed cameras quietly along the stretch under the expressway in each direction. Saw one unit myself and it look like a temporary bird-house. Caution.

Where is the exact location? Near South Buona Vista area or further up towards Telok Blangah? I drive there once in a while late at night cos its quiet and nice

Woah! I thought there was a 10km/h 'grace window' before..... and previously there were not demerit points for exceeding the posted speed limit within 20km/h?

Better be more careful now... it's quite easy to exceed the posted 60km/h on most roads.

The one I saw was around the stretch where there's petrol kiosks, heading towards city direction. The other one, according to sms received, is about the caribbean condo stretch in the direction towards west coast.
