New Speed Cameras Along Telok Blangah Rd?????

I received this on SMS today. Not sure whether it is true but I guess you need to slow down.

"New speed cameras on Telok Blangah road after Caribbean Keppel Bay and Pasir Panjang road in direction of West Coast. 1 more is on Pasir Panjang Road near the Handicraft Centre (I think opposite Kepple Club entrance-Boris) in the direftion towards Vivo City. No speed camera warnings."

Another piece of crucial info missing, am not sure whether it is the road below the overhead expressway or the expressway itself....

Does anyone know of this? After my 'test run' of the damn KPE the other day and the subsequent article in the newspapers, I am more than a bit worried. Especially after rushing to Vivo City on the ground level road via that route 2 nights ago!!:angry:

i think there has been numerous complains about police springing sting operations....and causing many to hit the brakes hard. public complaining its dangerous etc. the police did come out to say that in future they will give warning if there r speed traps...via radio warnings. all fixed camera will hv signs....so i doubt theyhv put up sudden cameras with no ample warnings.

Toto, that makes sense. Didnt think that they would put something up without the proper signage. Just not the singapore way if you know what I mean.

For all reading, I was under the impression that the speed traps in Telok Blangah were permenant ones like the holland road/botanic gardens one. and not a mobile camera.
But based on Kenn's reply, this is one of those urban myths?

Along TB rd, I've seen a mobile cam a couple of times on the overhead bridge (west bound), this is just after the junction with Henderson Road.

Hard to spot the bugger cos his back is set against the viaduct above.

just drove by tonight (before i read this post).

coincidentally, having used that road quite a bit (the one after carribean towards pasir panjang) tonight was the 1st time i swung my head backwards because i thought i saw something like one of those permanent box cameras on the right just when passing keppel club entrance!!

honestly i cannot confirm right now as i could only afford a split second glance while driving but it cannot be a post box so the only other possibility is those electrical circuit boxes owned by PUB/Singapore Power.

else, it's a damn camera. will someone who is passing by that place give us a confirmed answer please?? many thanks...

so many ad hoc cams and surveys there now cos of the mrt construction...difficult to confirm if its speed cam or other cams when on the move...
