BMW M3 Four Door and Convertible

After 13 years BMW is about to come back on the market with an M3 four door. Back in 1995 the Bavarian car manufacturer had already a four door in the M3 lineup, but then for just one model year.

This fall, BMW will start off with the launch of the new M3 model range by introducing coupe version. In spring 2008 the convertible M3 will follow, and finally in autumn another brand new four-door version will be unveiled. This one, however, has at the most the four doors in common with this predecessor, because while the 1995 M3 was powered by a 3.0 liter inline-6 engine delivering 296 HP, the M3 cars of today gets power from a strong 4.0 litre V-8, which should be able to accelerate in 4.6 sec. to 100 km/h.

Frankly the 335 sedan with tuning is good enuf liao. Power wise not a whole lot more excitingly more on the M3.

I read that there is a lot of other stuffs so far in the M3 n I think this is probably where BMW is trying to sell the car on. Some talk, supported with some pictures, showing the underside of the M3 suggest possibility of an exhaust note which varies with how fast the car is or how its driven.....what a freaking brilliant idea.

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

M3 sedan...soon on the road will have a lot of chong M3....haha........

in the pics...looks pretty the same as the normal e90 sedan.....

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

i think the wheel arches are wider and more flared, think to replicate will need to replace the front wings and rear body panels.. not gonna be cheap i think

M3 Sedans are cool... space and pace

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

looks better than the M3 coupe which to me is fugly... looks interesting... 335 with tuning should be able to put out that much power already and with a better torque curve too.

My question then, so which is more worth it? 335 sedan or M3 sedan?

Dilemma again?
Let me decide for you, 335 sedan-stick shift :)

nice! I was vacilating between the Z4 3.0SI and the Cayman. They are very very close. MANY would like the power of the Z4 3.0SI coupe, and I envy it, but I prioritized feel over power. This comparo is pretty close, but dealing with the M vs CS ... 2006 Sport Coupe Shoot-Out: BMW M Coupe vs. Porsche Cayman S

some small points might apply though. But the 3.0SI has more GO than the Cayman (non-S) definitely.

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

Can I vote twice for the 335 stick?

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

Why can't they change the rear of the 4-dr M3 to be like the coupe? I still can't get to like the cramped and unstately rear view of my E90 leh...

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

at least you have gotten used to the rest of the car already... I am still having trouble getting used to anything about the e90 somehow...

Re: New BMW ///M3 4-door sedan & cabriolet

The 4-door M3 will have coupe headlights and kidney grilles from the spypics and rumours. It will look quite different from the E90 at least head-on.

Ditto about the butt though...
