new beemer owner to be

Re: new beemer owner to be

Hello

Been driving a E90FL Pro for 3 weeks now, change to 18" rim Prodrive model GC014i bought from Hurry tyres at Bukit Timah, Staggerd running on Michelin Tyres Run Flat

Comfort will decrease slightly and road noise will increase slightly BUT performance, grip and all you expect from the rim increase.

I think most bros here can drive happy on 18"

one thing i cannot stand is the wheel gap when you increase your rim size

So did a ST coil over at JFC workshop.

another thing you may consider to install is sprint booster or pedal power.

Hallo bros & sis,

Am getting my 320I next week, heard a little about the noise with the factory fitted run-flat tyres.
Is it really bad or there is actually not much difference. Pls enlighten me. Thanx ah!

Run flat tyres have a harder side wall, thus will be slightly noisier.

Changing to non-run flat will depends on what range of tyres you change to.

Comfort tyres will be quiet, while performance tyre will have more or less than same noise level as run flat.

I have changed mine to Eagle F1 Asymmetric, noise reduced and ride more comfort.

hi bro,

you mean the wheel gap is bigger than standard wheels when increase rim size? by the way what is the size of your tires for front and back as well as the rim width.

Re: new beemer owner to be

yes wheel gap is like 4 fingers front and 3 finger back.

tyres size front 225/45 back is 235/35

Thanx bro, think i'll just stick to stock stuff for a start and "upgrade" progressively so that there is always something new to keep the ride "fresh".

Re: new beemer owner to be

The run-flat tyres might make a little more noise, especially on a little rougher road, but not so much that you will notice in a normal drive. Plus, BMW car are so insulated (sound proofed) that I barely notice the extra noise that the run flat tyre makes.
