new 3 series

hI just wondering does the new 3 series play DVD? saw the word dvd on the other disc changer.

i ask about the option and the parts guy is clueless of the option price. he reckons 10k for the professional navigation option.

am i able to get the i drive system to play with a kenwood dvd headunit player?

Welcome to the forums, "Meethefookie".

The navigation system runs off the DVD system, however whether it is capable of running a navigation system together with your DVD Movie LCD player remains to be a question.

The only reason why you will have a factory installed DVD player is purely for the navigation system, i may likely be wrong here because there may be a function to switch to play movies?

i reckon the 325i its a good buy if the navigation system cost ard 11k. i want the navigation module on my car and the quote price was ard 11k, thats really ex. 11k can get me a very good home plasma screen tv. Anyone else interested to get a navigation system or have already done so can share experience or ideas?

Hi, It's unlikely that you'll be able to play DVDs via iDrive, even if proNAV supports it. I believe LTA rules are strict regarding TV/video playback in the view of the driver. I think you are not allowed to have TV/video playback devices that can be in the view of the driver. So these devices are only allowed in the rear section of cars eg. like in MPV/SUVs
