hi guys...

was pondering and losing sleep over the selection of these 2 rims on my e90....

1) CSL replica...pluck some pics from the e90post so that u all can visualise it....

2) BBS CH replica

what u guys think? :juggle: .... thanks...

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

CSL CSL CSL!!!!!

como,
both are nice, i have seen BBS in our e90 group, but not the CSL yet. hope to see ur car with the new shoes real soon ya...

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

yo babe,

how much is the CSL replica? 18" ?
Both are nice, for me i will go for CSL.

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

I have seen replicas CSL on a fren's E90. Did not look that great coz he cld not find one with the rite offset. So ended up having to use spacers. Choosing the rite offset for E90 is juz as impt as choosing a design. Otherwise, even a good looking set of rims may look sunken-in.

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

you are so rite...T6.....CSL rims are offset 41....to put it on the e90 (offset 35)....you will need to put spacers to make it look good.....thanks TripleM for ur feedback :)

just not sure abt the reliability issues on the spacers on the car.....this is what i am still holding back......

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

CSL slightly ahead as far as aesthetic appeal is concerned. Fitment asides, how much cheaper are the replicas vis-a-vis the real thing?

The +35 must be factory offset for BMW stk rims rite? Which means u can go even more aggressive like maybe +32? If I remember correctly, TBT went to offset +32 when he was using replica M6 design rims. :)

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

Ken, not sure abt the real CSL but it is definitely much much cheaper....the replicas are really cheap.

The rear CSL is easily around $1k per rim. Am sure Triple M can confirm that. :)

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

If the CSL Replica is 41 offset, then it's for E46.

I understand from South East that nowsaday all BBS rims comes with spacer so that they can fit E46 and E90 without problem..

Agreed with Ken that aesthetically, CSL looks better but quality wise, I think BBS reputation is better... :)

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

Real CSL cost bout 4k for entire set 8.5 ET44 front , 9.5 ET27 rear
In order to fit them on E90, one still has to put 10mm spacers for the front. Rear may need rolling if u are goin for 265 tires n lowered ride.

Since OEM CSL is near to impossible to get them, your next best thing is the
CS rims which are of similar design to CSL but slightly different specs ( front is 8J and offset is also in +40 plus region => spacers needed again )

In both cases, they are made by BBS exclusively for M3 CSL / M3 CS

Now..I m beginning to worry bout those replica rims in the market. Quality aside, I m more concerned bout the availability in the event a replacement is needed. We hv seen example in real life where one damaged rim ended up costing the owner a full brand new set of rims..no kidding.

If u really wish to spend money on rims, just save up a bit more and go Non replicas.

I may put up my OEM CSL rims for sale but not that soon.

Yep, that is the solution goin forward initiated commercially by some rims maker esp BBS...One rim for all , all for one...swee2x

That's my point. Unless the savings are so substantial, else one runs the risk of losing the entire set of rims when one-piece replacement is unavailable. The mentioned case involved the AC Type IV replicas.

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

Think these are in 19" only, if that's what you're after...

Re: need ur guys views on this rims .....

wah, considering the ACS reps leh, now really must think thrice! Why so worried, simply becos the stocks on the E90 cmi and i thot the ACS reps are a nice replacement, sigh..

If going by the argument, then I was told, and correct me if I am wrong. the only correct offset for the E90 is the OZ ultraleggeras 18' (ultra light, my puny hand can lift up like a balloon, ok exagerrate a bit but you get the drift) only snag is it osts ard $500 a pop. Think it is a good buy, anyone?

Andy,

i went even more than +32 , my M6 was ET35 and addon spacer of 15mm on the rear, so i would say 8J / ET 20 for the rear than was on the M6 Rep rims.
