Any recommendations for a bloody good Car Battery?
I would prefer a non-japanese brand...

gai siao gai siao please.

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

varta. y? your batt died? car cannot start?

for your car, try energizer or duracell...

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

Still can start...

But about time to change.
And i need to feed my I.C.E with more PAWOOOOR.

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

go get a truck battery. that one will provide power to run your home entertainment system.

bigger battery = heavier = higher FC.

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

Herman, wanna try Braille battery? I am contemplating this as my next mod........

Braille Auto

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

kenn: are you intending to do a gb and how long does it take to come in?

my batt is also due for replacement and am trying desperately to lighten the car (besides driver losing weight).

herman: sorry for the OT. just pulling your leg lah...

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

Was contemplating these also but wary about having to jumpstart the car after coming back from overseas trip.

u'll also need to fabricate a mount for the batt as its smaller than ours...

The bracket and mount will be necessary. I am not too sure about the legevity of the battery, but if it can last 2 years, that's better than my Varta in my previous ride, which lasted only 1.5 years. But cranking power has been a suspect raised by some forumers here:

Weight savings of 40+ lbs for your E9x - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com

Herman - if your car is heavily ICEd, I am not sure if this battery helps.

Jin - we need not do a GB. There is a distributor here:

Exquisite Marques
31 Loyang Drive
Singapore 508346
Tel: 6542 1151
Fax: 6542 1161
Email: salesinquiry@exquisitemarques.com

Anyone wanna do a debate on 50-50 weight distribution after the battery is changed?

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

are you talking about front:rear or left:right? :lol2:

on a more serious note. curious why herman prefers non-nippon brand.

and cranking power? means car not able to start properly?

not cheap - price premium due to weight savings right?

bottomline - do you think it's worth it?

Or just front and rear, as a whole.

Re: *Need Tolong* Recommendation for CAR BATTERY.

Errr...
ICE not as done up as Ai Lim Mai's one...
But its quite done up to an extent...

Is there a so called bigger battery that will be able to accomodate to my ICE setup?
At the same thing, not TOO heavy?

I've never gotten any aftermarket batteries so i have NO idea at all !

Guys, Look for Gadafi..

His dad is bringing in the Odyssey battery and they are suing the same technology as the other brand...

As for the capacity of the battery, Stick to the ones that have 25 to 30 AH or else you may have problems running all the standby electronics. the starting power of these batteries are as good as standard batteries as they use porour lead plates that drastically increase discharge current capacity. But because they are lighter, they do not have that much lead and thus the total capacity is much lesser than a standard battery.

ps: it you have a Cab top, these batteries are a no no...

cheers

happy modding

odyssey battery have 2 years storage life before needing charge @ 25deg cel
for our local temperature, a year of storage wouldnt b a prob. I did keep the batt for 8 months n surprisingly it works.
