Pls advice me if any peers here came across this issue.
I jus took my car from PML about 1 month, tried many times with BMW Impregnating Agent after washing my car, i apply it with a micro fiber sponge after the soft top is totally dry up usually on the next day, but somehow or rather the top still absorb water on raining days, it doesnt repel the water. Is it the product i got was the wrong one or there is something beeter i could get from the market? As i send it back to PML from a demo after that i come back also the same problem. Pls help to advice, any advice is greatly appreciate.

Hi, i find it easier to apply the bmw solution when the roof is damp. What i used to do is wash the top with cleaning solution, and use a sponge to dab dry the roof area that i intend to start on first.

Typically dividing the roof into two, by the time i'm done with the first half, the second would have dried out a bit but still damp enough.

I find the canvas absorbs the solution better while damp than dry. I apply using a small piece of sponge, cut from those yellow foam car wash sponges.

If you want to try raggtop you can order it in Sg too. Diygurus.com carries it.

Good luck.

can't really help much here, cos i used the raggtop cleaner and the bmw weatherproofing! So can't really compare for you. My reason for the combo was the raggtop cleaner is non toxic. When i applied the stuff, the wind blows some around and i didn't want toxic crap flying around in my face. So far it's been pretty good, i hardly got roof stains, but it handled small dots of sap well.

I never used their corresponding weather proofing cos it's an aerosol spray can and i was never confident of even spray coats.

No prob, hope it helps you.

I bought a baby's bottle brush, but i did't use it for the roof in the end cos it flung so much soap up. In the end, those soft yellow car sponges were the best for me. Cut a hand sized piece and scrub gently after spraying the fabric cleaner. If got sap, just spray the area wuth cleaner and brush gently with a toothbrush.

Oh and remember to leave the car roof out in the sun to dry up aftetr weather proofing. Once mine didn't dry totally i think, and the water repellency was bad.

Ha ha ha then i know maybe why mine cant repel, cos after the application of solution i didnt put under the sun instead i leave in under shelter to dry :)
