need advise : Tyres wear

hi,

Need advise on tyre wear.

Am driving a 320i, the front wheels have more wear on outer wall and rear wheels have more wear on inner wall.

Is this normal ?

Check your alignment. When was the last time you did that?

Bought the pre-owned car last year. Changed the rim from 16" to 18" but never went for any alignment.

So what should the normal tyre wear for 320i, all for wheels with more inner wall wear ??

Is the default factory setting biased towards inner wall wear ?

For me, it wear off evenly overtime. I do wheel alignment every 10k km.

Front prob too much positive camber and rear too much negative camber. Send for alignment and I recommend Kian Teong at Sin Min Autocare.

I did mine @ South Asia Motor. I think it's about $100.

just read the thread on Camber/Toe and thinking on the tyre wear for different camber/toe setting

does this means my front wheel is camber neutral and the rear wheel is negative camber, hence more tyre wear on the outer wall for front wheel and inner wear for rear wheel

is this the factory setting for 320i ?

Front could even be positive in camber, not just neutral...... having said that, wrong toe might have caused the wear too.

What did Mike say when you did your alignment?

have yet to go for alignment, was thinking to do it after changing suspension setup.

if you do a lot of multi story parking. it's not uncommon to experience more wear on the outer front of the tyres.

but really, go for the alignment first. 18" tyres not cheap.

I did my alignment at Stamford recently, $70 buck... and they will provide a full report on the before and after.
