Need advise on how to get back memory settings

Hi bros,

This morning, my wife went to pick up my car from the carpark, not sure what she did, all my memory settings on my seats, radio frequency settings were all gone...as if everything went back to factory settings....Is there any steps that I should do to reinstate back my previous setting? According to her, she press the start button twice before stepping on the brake to start the engine :(

btw, my wheels is a E60

u probably rest ur settings on this key. if u set ur seats and mirror settings on the spare keyfob, you shld be able to get the settings by using the other key.

Thanks Slater. Thus, do I need to insert my key into the key slot later with my key before starting? Thanks.

not sure if i understood ur qn corretly.

i believe the moment u unlock ur doors with the spare key fob, ur seats will revert to your last seat driving position. likewise mirror and stuff will also readjust.

The problem is there is nothing much u can do with the othr keyfob that has its settings reset. u will prob need to manually set it again with the key in the ignition.

Thanks.....She was using my key to get the car this morning, so I am not sure what else she did that caused the memory issue, other than pressing the start button twice before stepping on the brake to start the engine.....perhapes later I will take the key to start and see if the memory can be reinstated.....

By the way talking about the spare key, do we need to rotate the 2 keys since the car charges the batt on the key when we drive. Or its ok to just keep using the 1 key and the spare never been use at all?

personally i rotate my key every 2 months to ensure that they r used. u know how these things r. u dun use it over time it might not work. worst still, battery alkaline might leak.

i know its a bitch. no 2 ways about it. have to get the seat position right on each key seperately. wish they had a central memory in the car other than the keyfob. not sure if iam missing something here.
