Bros, my current set of Continental Premium 2 is botak and has to be replaced. What's the latest fad on comfort tyres? Considering several options - Goodyear F1, NCT 5, Dunlop SportMaxx (but no size - 225/55 R16 on stock rim), Bridgestone GR80, Yoko DB etc. Appreciate any advice on your experience, price and availability.

Re: Need advice on tyres for E39

I had Yokohama AVS dB v500 on my 1996 E39 520i before I sold it many years ago. Very progressive, very quiet with good ride characteristics, and nicely suited to the car for normal city and highway work, but not a performance tire and ultimate wet weather grip may be lacking. To be honest, I had bought those tires because they were cheaper than most and I knew I was going to sell the car within a few months, but I was pleasantly surprised with the relatively good performance. The current model should be a further improvement.

Am using PS2 in 235/45/17 now on my 2002 E39 525iT. Quite good, not cheap but money well spent.
