My First Post and a very "SIAN" thread...

22 Feb 2005 @ 3pm, Reach Sin Ming Ind.

Reach the workshop which alot of brother recommend from all the threads.

I send my E46 318i for servicing because my brake pad lights is lighted up.

Reach the workshop, the tech. is very friendly, he recommend 2 type of brake pads and explain in details which country and what's the purpose mainly for the brakepads.

I was glad he provide me with such detail informations.

I agree to change to a more to streetracing brakepads @ 120 a pair.

He even ask his partner to check which brakepads need to change.

After some checking, he told me the rear brakepads going to finish up soon and the front is completely finish. So I change both front and rear brakepad.

After that, i left the workshop and walk around the whole building looking for rims and some speakers.

45mins-1hr later, i return to the workshop and i didnt see my bimmer, I walk around for a while and saw my car drove back by the friendly tech. He parked my car and even ask if I wanted a car wash... because I am at rush of time, I turn down the offer. I take a 2nd look at my bimmer...

 how come the body of my car near the rear wheel so shiny. I walk up and look at it... Oh... MY !! it's a dent inside. The size is like a Mac. Med Size Coke Cup. No scratches but the dent is quite deep inside.

The tech. at first say when I bring my car for sercving, it's was dented. I look at him and ask him to repeat what he just say.. he replied "ok, u wait, i call my boss"

----zap----
After the tech talk to the boss, the boss come to this agreement, he will do my car back, respray and repair the dent for me FOC. I leave my car at his workshop and come back 2-3days later.

Now the problem, I am working at Parklane. I stay at Woodlands. My working time is 7-7:30am in the morning and goes home 8:30-9:00pm with my parent and sister both to parklane and to home.

So for these 2 days, 3 of us need to get our own transport, wake up 45mins earlier and reach home 45mins late.

I do F&B, so my car is some kinda transport for me to carry or go do some spot check on my workers at the another shop.

Should the workshop give me something to drive ? Today is the first day without my drive, and I feel transport for me is getting troublesome because I have another shop at Orchard Tower which is at another side of orchard. (Parklane S.Centre > Orchard Tower)

Any brothers here and bad exp. like me before, should I ask for a car ?

Please advise.

man..thats a tough first post. guess depends how much u wanna push it.. ie. demanding for compensation, time loss etc etc..in the form of at least renting u a car for the duration of the repairs... tough man.. but hang in there..once its fixed, driving a UDM is usually a cure-all...cheers mate!

Quick One : Ultimate Driving Machine a.k.a BMW.

Hi bro. Sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. Hope you get this thing sorted out smoothly. Think I know which workshop you are referring to. IMO, if the workshop has admitted liability, I think you are entitled to get some form of compensation for the loss of use of your car. But then again as what gwumpkus has said, it depends on how far you wanna push this issue. BTW UDM = Ultimate Driving Machine

thanks...
didnt know this forum is so active event at 10:30am.

Off Topic : hey.. my ride is a pain, non-modify before. I go outing, what is there to do ?

but there are 5levels in Sin Ming Ind... if really very obvious, can tell me which part ? Because I feel that it's not the shop fault and I am not here to spoilt it's rep in this BMW forum as it's one of the workshops in the workshop list.

I just wanna stress out as it's my first and new ride and end up my first accident is not done by me, myself.... :uhhh:

Re: My First Post and a very "SIAN" thread...

teckheng,

I sympathise with your encounter with the workshop. Perhaps you should press on for some transport allowances, since they have in some way admitted liability. I seriously doubt they could offer you a replacement car.

BTW, just for interest, is the workshop opened "just" for cars?

kenntona,
my parents actually ask me to bark down the price or allowances or something... but i already told them to settle my car and it's already in their workshop now repairing and maybe re-spraying...

I have a long scratch from the rear door to the front door, i actually ask the boss to do it for me since there will be a spraying going on and i doesnt wish to send to my friend workshop at Ubin just to do a hairline scratch, I tell him i dun mind topping, but he quote me $180.. I was looking something lesser than 3 digit. so i reject the offer.

Ya, it's a workshop, so-call For Bimmers.
