My DIY Ingition Booster

I bought some 4700uF capacitors and solder the +ve side to wire 15 at the ignition coil connector and -ve to ground.

Apparently, it does work. My fairly accurate butt dyno tells me the engine is more lively and acceleration is better. Shiok!!

The wiring sucks but its just an experiment. Next is house the capacitors in a box and put some LEDs to show its working....lol....

capacitors will fail from the engine heat. how did you arrive at 4700uF capacitors in series??

For capacitors, you will need high temperature ones. Those normal 85C will likely fail from engine heat. Need at least 105C ones.

As for the values. its taken from Xtreme Spark Plug Optimiser. Was impressed with the demo at autobacs. Someone opened up the thing and found that its just a 4700uF capacitor inside.

wow impressive but aren't you worried about engine malfunction or maybe fire?

Fire? Its not going to happen..... The worst scenario is caps blow. But it does not affect the engine nor cause any power surge.

Re: My DIY Ingition Booster

sorry ah, im technically inept... how does this differ in concept to r2d's ignition upgrade?

Re: My DIY Ingition Booster

Wahhhhh, u are genius, seriously..thumb up for u.

Re: My DIY Ingition Booster

Totally not safe!

Any fail parts might spark & if any residual of oil or fuel.....then.....haiz......

Get a proper kit.

Be safe.

Too many cars caught fire while driving recently.........

hoho this is just experiment. I am now building a kit for it.

I applaud you for your entrepreneurial spirit. Let no one press you down.
