MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

For those of you who've read my DIY here.. I might be selling off my front Brembo F40 calipers if there is enough interest.. I painstakingly rebuilt them with all new pressure seals and dust boots but I didn't repaint them coz I don't really bother about looks.. Function wise 100%, cosmetically maybe 60-70%... you can always get them painted another colour... I want to try maybe my AP Racing or F50 calipers so I'm passing on the cost savings to you...

$850 includes 2 calipers, retaining pins, anti-knock spring and 1 set of ferodo pads with 90% left.. The pads alone are worth 200.. NO BRACKETS unless you drive an E36 M3 my brackets would be useless to you... your workshop should be able to handle it

I paid $1700 for the F40 calipers.. spent $200 rebuilding them with new dust boots and pressure seals so you are getting a steal... if you are genuinely interested you may contact me at 9781 9159 or reply to this thread.. my PM is always full so forget about it your msg might not reach me

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

freaking awesome.

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

dont know whether can fit e46 or not.

and it doesn't come with the rotors :(

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

very challenging leh Herman.....i think u better stick to your Brembo covers...hehe
just kidding dude....u should call joon up for the specs if u are really interested, do some homework and also find the rotors for that.....add up the sums and see if the damage is acceptable or not.....can, then go ahead lo. good luck bro.
Milk tea tomoro nite??

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

cmi bro...
working till 11+ tmr night.
i'll see if i can make it and give u or jeff a call...

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

Calipers are universal.. they fit all cars.. all you need are brackets.. which you can get any reputable workshop to measure and fabricate

Rotors you can source from BMW Motorsport, Brembo or Stoptech.. these 3 companies offer the most direct fit 2-piece rotors.. Alcon, AP Racing make great rotors but you'll need to custom a mounting bell for it

I'm hoping to sell to a DIY fella who knows what he's doing and is willing to experiment and learn at the same time.. Instead of walking into a garage, paying $5000 and driving off with a BBK, by building your own you'll learn a lot about your car in the process... but you'll also need to have a regular workshop capable of helping you :)

I certainly do not have the time to build a BBK for you, but I can offer advice on how to proceed.. I'm trying to encourage more DIY'ers to step up :smack:

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

indecisive right? to sell brackets or buy calipers kekekeke....

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

ok I've decided not to sell.. it's way tooo troublesome.. I've been flooded with inquiries about brackets and stuff that I thought I already made quite clear.. I'm also surprised and saddened at the number of lowballers haha ..oh well can't please everyone :nehnehhh:

I'll just keep this as a spare set of calipers, if you are really interested AND you have done your own research you may contact me and we can discuss.. otherwise I suggest you buy a brake kit, you'll be happier that way, after all modding is about being happy, just different roads to the same goal :)

Re: MWTS: Brembo F40 Calipers

Peter, sincerely, i respect what you're doing, and building. But, i also know many don't. Do not be disheartened. Frankly i'm one who clearly understands what you wrote, and also can buy your calipers. Its just that i dont have the resources to do it at the moment.

Many of us are waiting to see your machine completed. We look forward to that day. :)
