Hi guys,
I was wondering whether anyone have try this method where by removing the rear stock muffler and replace it with just normal 2.5" or 2.25" pipe and end it with some nice muffler tips. I believe some bassy sound can be obtain. However, how are the perfomance? Does it feel obvious lost of power at mid-end and high-end?
Anyone comment are appreciated!

Re: Muffler Delete

yes , its very bassy , but totally no more low end power , feel like the car is dragging .

Re: Muffler Delete

Was thinking of getting a muffler delete once i got my quad diffuser on..But i believed i would stick to my stock muffler with quad modification first..

Re: Muffler Delete

Dun do it..will regret big time..TOTAL lost of low end...ur car cannot move..I only operated my exhos and it feels bad..not to mention totally no muffler..End up spend money to buy back the stock muffler..this is wat I call backside itchy..

Re: Muffler Delete

YUP , that true , i tried direct without muffler , worst than a 1.6 litre car , but as bassy as a ferrari . haha

Re: Muffler Delete

It's gonna sound like a tug boat. I did it on my car and it sounds like constipation every cold start up. Hhaha, i end up doing a custom quad exhaust from the down pipe onwards. Low end was not affected greatly. Feels and sounds good, roarrringg.

Hhehe :shakemyb:

Cool

It affects every car in a relative sense i feel.

Depends on the engine cc I guess. Bigger cc enough to push the car even iif its flowing through straight pipes.. Low end not really affected. Does that make sense? Hmm hahah.

Re: Muffler Delete

It will affect all rides (make/model/engine size) low end & its not drivable for daily use. Even a V8 also need a back pressure for low end.

Unless we r talking bout drag/track rides, then different issue / perspective le. :)

my 2 jiam :)

Re: Muffler Delete

Couldn't agree more with Tomace. Not just muffler delete, open pod air intake affects low end like hell too.

For goodness sake in the best of Christmas spirits there is finally a good honest thread about the possible after effect of some mods! I was getting sick of mod threads where people only says xxx is good or yyy increases power, without supporting their claims with anything! And worse still, many already know those mods are not as heavenly as they are make up to be.
Merry Christmas eveyone, and may the New Year be filled with more informative and useful threads like this.
