I understand there was some prior discussion on PU and PP bumper. I would like to understand how then can we differentiate the reps from the real Mccoy? I saw Taiwan manufactured bodykit tat looks so damn good...if its not for the website i'm in, I seriously would not know better .

http://www.hdautofans.com/p_6me619072.htm

So, if i have a workshop saying 'My kit are the real stuffz', how then can I differentiate ?? Any advise? :shakehea:

Re: Mtech Kit - How to differentiate authentic from replica ??

ask owner to show receipt??

Re: Mtech Kit - How to differentiate authentic from replica ??

Order from Eng Soon. After that, jio C3PO for kopi.

Re: Mtech Kit - How to differentiate authentic from replica ??

Normally parts from BMW will have part no stick behind the product. (with BMW logo too)

Replica ones not easily spotted from completed end product. Only by taking a look behind for finishing then able to know. Replica ones normally uses fiberglass thus back very rough. Product from BMW more smoother & can be bend. Fitments wise both bout the same..

Cheers ~~ :)

Just kick it. If bounce back is pu
If crack is fiberglass.

wa, hdautofans is my China kangtao. Yup, their bodykits are replica.

Actually most of the time I look at the price.

Of course, if someone is selling replica and trying to pass it off as original by selling it at original parts' price and then saying it's original, then too bad....

Anyway, try to get bodykits from local suppliers.

Thing is, shop is selling replica parts made from PP, hence, how to tell after installation?

Even if you buy from PML and they give you replica, you also won't know.

Means to say the biggest difference in tis case is logo n parts number, since material is more or less the same?

Something like tat.................. if you have 2 itmes to compare..... its quite obvious.....
i've even seen, replica with logo....
but the real one.. the BMW logo is very detailed type....
where else the replica one... the BMW logo is just a round logo with a plus sign in it.....

As for material..... both are PU... not totally same... but if i'm not wrong... PU also have different grades..... (but anyway if langgar... both also will crack....) :lol2::lol2::lol2:

Fake boobs crash liao it may go behind and become humpback

Re: Mtech Kit - How to differentiate authentic from replica ??

In general, the larger the replica parts, the more evident the flaws are. The wavy nature of FG-based bodykits for instance, too easy to tell.

errrrrh.....Sorry but I have zero knowledge abt tis FG-based thingy u mentioned....hence, does tis FG-based thingy applies to non-oem bodykit made from PP? They seems very OEM to me before painting loh :slaphead:
