Mix tyres??

I recently changed my tyres to Yokohama AVS Db V550. Though the roadholding and cornering are good, the ride is jittery and I can feel the car going over the smallest road imperfection through the steering wheel and have to constantly feed steering input. This is tramlining isn't it?

As the tyres are new I was thinking of just replacing the 2 front tyres for something softer, like the OEM Bridgestone Turanza, Pirelli Rosso, etc , without touching the rear tyres.
Are there any potential problems if I am to use different brands for front and back?

Opinions and advice appreciated.

Re: Mix tyres??

I think as long as u dont use 4 different barnds of tyres on the 4 wheels, it shld be fine.

Re: Mix tyres??

it may be a good thing to ensure your front and rear tyres do not have too big a difference in grip levels though...if the front tyres have significantly poorer grip than the rear, youre gonna get quite a bit of understeer i think...the opposite ie. oversteer if you do it the other way round...drifting??

Re: Mix tyres??

I'm thinking about changing my tires to the V550 as I'm looking for a set of quiet tyres that are not too shroddy in the wet.

I'm concerned about your comments on tramlining. May I know how long you've had your v550 and does this improve as the tyre breaks in?
