Speaking with Autocar, design director Gorden Wagener said the Vision A concept is a "realistic" representation of the production model will look like when it is launched sometime next year. He added, "Obviously the real thing is a five-door and we will make changes to the window line, headlights and grille, but that's it."

Likewise, the interior will be toned-down but Wagener said material quality will be better than the current C-Class. More interestingly, the car's COMAND system will be able to download apps but there's no word on what programs we can expect.

Engine options remain a bit of a mystery, but the whole petrol lineup will be turbocharged. Furthermore, all models will be outfitted with an engine start/stop system and will be connected to a manual transmission or an optional dual-clutch gearbox.

Lastly, Merecedes' R&D director Thomas Weber confirmed plans for an AMG variant - possibly dubbed the A25. While he declined to go into detail, previous reports have suggested the high-performance model could use a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that develops 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) to 350 hp (261 kW / 355 PS). It will likely be paired to a dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
