Me is Newbie

Hi All,

Just got registered today. Am thinking of getting my hands on the Ultimate Driving Machine.....currently driving a Mazda 3.
Need advice as to get a new 3 series or a pre-owned one from PML. had gone down to look see look see recently, with their generous "over trade"? is it good idea? or perhaps buying a pre-owned one still ok? cos i read in some forums of cars reaching 4-5 years and with things breaking down....spare parts are ok, but labor charges are sky high unless u go to juzz for cars or riverview auto....

Some advice would be good from Old birds here. :)

Re: Me is Newbie

Hi,

I was also in the same predicament as you a couple of months ago, however since the ride is also going to be use by my wife and kids, I opted for a brand new one. Although a well cared pre owned ones is also ok but for the kiasi in me , go for the brand new.

You could also consider the following, a pre owned 1 year old 523 is also around 140k , while a brand new one was approx 170k plus ( i think) , so with the good overtrade, the price difference between the pre-owned and new (minus the depreciation and overtrade) is already negligible specially you spread it over the installment period.

cheers

:) thanks man....really appreciate ur response. Am just looking for a sturdy car and safe car to get around places. Not really a cheongster, but will most probably settle for the straight 6.
But how's the new 520? is it really underpowered? as compared to the 05 model?
Anyone can comment on that here?

Re: Me is Newbie

Test drove the 520 , seems ok but right after testing both the 523 and 525 , there is no denying that the 520 lacks both the quick response and smoothness of the bigger brother, however for the price difference , this is also a good option
