Read somewhere that the M6's rims are not made the usual way, but are "forged" alloys...what does that mean? how is it better than the normal alloys?

the forging process allows less porosity, ie less defects or bubbles within the metal... can only be seen under microscope... costly to make...

casting process, liquid metal is poured into a mould... very prone to trapped air bubbles... ie material defects... cheaper process...

Nonetheless, think M6 rims are just so average as far as look goes..
The best looking rims in the bmw history is still CSL IMO...

They weigh 1.8kgs per corner less than the cast M5 wheels. Enuf said.
