First of all, my sincere thanks to CP and Yendor at UM2 for helping me to get a set of customised VR plugs for my ride. They were installed today. CP convinced me that my car is probably the first one in the world to have these plugs..He is probably right coz until today, I hv never come across any discussion or mention of such plugs in M3 forum nor E46Fanatics. Only 48 pieces were made and I took 6 of them.
Anyway, that isn't exactly the main point...
Left UM2 premises ard 6pm and the traffic was pretty bad. I had a strong urge to gun the car a little bit when hitting PIE but beforehand, I had already been warned several times of traffic police random presence around that area. So I behaved....Never mind.
Nonetheless, here goes my initial review upon first day driving the car:
1. Car idling is very smooth and consistent at 800rpm..No vibration whatsoever.
2. Initial move off feels lighter amid a/c on
3. Throttle input becomes more sensitive and is seriously lighter...Those who are heavy footed should watch out on this
4. Didnt manage to pull the car hard to redline but the mid range pull feels more responsive....Somehow it has a stronger brutal feeling of engine rawness typically found in M-engines. Gotta love this!
5. Gearshifts. Drove in S4 mode and the shifts seemed to give a firmer punch.
6. Fuel Consumption...Too early to tell but honestly, I dont really care.
Will monitor the performance of the car for the next few days and update here if anything.
But so far, I am very happy with the plugs. To me, it's a "cheap" mod that gives plenty of performance satisfaction.
Just a brief info on the plugs:
The heat range used is 8, same as the stock ones. It's handmade and the unique asset of the spark plugs is that the ground electrode is made of iridium as well
Yendor
Where is the pix of the plugs?
Cheers
