M3 DCT while decelerating

Hi bros,

Asking on behalf of a M3 DCT owner.

While his car was decelerating from high speed to low speed on auto drive "D", he notice the car did nto drop gear quick enough for engine brakes to kick in, and even at rather low speed, say about 30-40km/h, the gear indicator still showing on gear 5. So if u need to pick up acceleration at this point, you are moving on gear 5 which is not ideal, and need to manually drop gear on paddle shift in order for a quick pick up.

Any bro with similar ride has experience this symptom or anyone knows the reason ? Is it a tuning issue ?

Thanks

Re: M3 DCT while decelerating

I tested the M3 last week and the test drive car behaves the same way. I am not sure whether the slow drop of the gears is due to programming. If this is so, it is to make the car more efficient. As for the explosive accerleration from 40km/h in 5th gear, you wld just need to hammer down the throttle and the gears will kick down automatically.

Re: M3 DCT while decelerating

Its a software issue. Get it updated to the latest one and it will be much better!

Re: M3 DCT while decelerating

Definitely a software issue, but for those prospective buyers, go with a PI 6-speed manual instead. Much easier to live with IMO if you are a spirited driver
