M3 boot lip spoiler for E46 Cab

For those bros who have purchase this before, I need you advice. I am looking at get the spoiler for my ride from ebay. Please see picture below:

The problem I have is as follows:

1) The prices varies a lot. Some are real cheap. Do not know if there will be any problems.

2) Some advertised that the size of 2 door version (Coupe) is the same as that of Cabriolet while others say 4 doors version is the same as Cabriolet. Then there are auctions that is only for cabriolet (but more expensive). Super confusing. Anyone has any idea the difference in lenght for the car boots (ie. sedan. coupe, cabriolet). Which one should I buy?

I have seens some of you cab drivers out there with this spoiler and would appreciate it if you could help me out. If you have other suggestion on where I can get it instead of ebay, please also let me know. Thanks.

I once had a replica one but sold it new without installing, cos it makes the rear look busy (our third brake light being too close).

If I'm not mistaken, there should be only one size. In terms of quality, it's best to check if the surface appears "wavy" - something you can't do on eBay - replica ones may look quite obvious.

You probably can get original M3 spoilers from Eng Soon; they don't carry AC Schnitzer, which PML ever quoted at more than $800!

Can you get them frm Eng Soon??.. i think u can right?.

Ok, check with Eng Soon already. For Cab drivers, we have to get the one for Sedan version. It is not exact fit as there will be some small gap on each side (slightly shorter). They only manufacture this for Sedan and Coupe. The Coupe version is even shorter.

The boot of a M3 cab does not have any lip spoiler. So, why bother to put a lip spoiler if you want to complete the M3 look?

Hi Cgoh, i use to own same ride as u in 2002. personally, i felt the boot needs some bootlid spoiler of sorts to 'complete' the look. look out for used ones as many E46er's sedans are being deregistered off the road....if u hav time, u may find a couple of these at Propel Scrap Yard (depends on luck, juz call them n ask)....also, another guy to look for is Mike at Sin Wee Chuan. He may hav a couple lying around....fm some owner that changed n demod cars...my ex-ride was full AC (dat explains my nick) except i used M3 mirrors.

like else... i got my spoiler coz it's just too plain without one. mine's the original Mtec Sports spoiler... bot it as a total package from PML...
its pretty heavy... but the final look is really nice when the top is down... not to mention unique too... haha

dun think u can take a used rear boot spoiler from a Sedan... maybe of diff fit. better double check... likewise with the bodykits.

if u want the complete M3 look with a twist... get the full M3-CSL vorsteiner look... swee swee

Great minds think alike! I also feel that boot looks bare. Funny you mentioned but I was at Propel yesterday afternoon (take opportunity to go for a drive to feel the breeze after sitting in the offiice the whole day ). Unfortunately, they do not have them. Have not checked with Mike. Will SMS him now. I am also looking for M3 mirrors. Hard to find used Original M3. Still wondering if I should go for a replica one. So much cheaper.

I agree that the car look plain without the spoiler. Got pic of your ride with the spoiler? For the simple boot lip spoiler strip, you can use a Sedan one as it is flexible however will have a few mm gap on each side. Not visible. Can acccept.

M3 CSL ... very tempting. But have to go for the whole works to change the bumpers. Not willing to spend so much easpecially after I have just change my bumper to a 2003 face lifted one from Mike recently.

Strong advice: dont go for replica M3 mirrors; they look diff fm the originals. if cost is a concern, get the original M3 mirrors without the folding function.
