Re: Lowering the car

start up the car with the brake pedal full depressed, and your key in the half-position for 10 seconds. You should hear a chirp chirp sound, when that happens, start the car, press the brake pedal 3 times, throttle 4 times, then another 2 times on the brakes, the i-drive screen should show a "ride height adjustment menu", with this menu shown, you should be able to raise or lower your car's height as much as you want.

If that fails, and your engine is already started, you need to move your gear selector to the "D - D-s" area, and push it, up up down down left right left right, air-con on-off, on-off, re-start engine

To change ride height with engine off, pull your handbrake lever up and down to pump the height away, like an air-jack.

Re: Lowering the car

put on bigger wheels? like truck wheels?

Re: Lowering the car

wah, reminds me of my special code leh when i was playing the Contra game on my Nintendo donkey years ago :lol2:

Bro Shadow, there's no instant fix to closing that gap without touching the suspensions or the springs. Fastest way out is to replace with lowering springs.
other way is use bigger rims n tyres. or else u have to let the wear n tear on the suspension to take long long time for that gap to close. now how many fingers?

In that case, you'll need to adjust it manually with the handbrake lever, you'll have to pump it to raise the height and keep pressing the release button to lower it

Re: Lowering the car

aiya...you all make fun of me lah...hehe.
I try not to touch the suspension now. OK guess I have to bear with it.

Thanks all for the comment.

Re: Lowering the car

shadow,

what model are you driving? because even if you went up to 20inches, the gap will still be noticeable... if you want a dropped/slammed look, springs, coilovers, will do the trick.

do not cut the springs, ever.

Re: Lowering the car

just get not-so-branded lowering springs, abt 200+ for front only....i think its your front with that noticeable gap rite??
alot of workshops should be able to do the job for u

Re: Lowering the car

Thanks Bros.

I thought of getting coilover but my frien's A4 got sound after that. quite scary.

Re: Lowering the car

what kind of sound?

do bear in mind that you will be placing more stress on your absorbers/shocks if you use lowering springs, because they are in a constant compressed mode.. and so eventually may wear out faster.. my shocks gave way a year after i installed lowering springs...

Re: Lowering the car

Best way is to squeeze an elephant into your car...
Should lower by 200mm at least.

Coilover got sound? not true. may be due to poor workmanship.

Oh, ok, but so far I haven't heard of coilovers making sound on the cars here. Tell your friend change car. Ok ok, just kidding.
No worries, if you change the appropriate coilover for your car, it should not make any funny sound. What coilover did your friend changed for his A4?

Re: Lowering the car

U guys are hillarious! I actually though Mockngbrd was serious too the first paragraph or so. LOL!

Re: Lowering the car

the sound might be due to his other things, not the coilovers.

did your friend change the bushings on his ride? polyurethane bushings may be the cause of the sound, especially when going over humps.

Re: Lowering the car

I don't know...I thing is just poor workmanship. Got fixed by another mechanic.
Thanks.
