Lowering E92 325i

Re: Lowering E92 325i

PSS9 or KW2 coilovers.

Chew "Cybertron" and I are both using PSS9. Sam "AzrielSC" and Omar "elmariachi" are using KW2.

Can check with Barry "rex7_vtec" (PSS9) or Sam (KW2) for pricing. Installation can be done at any workshops such as BVO.......

Beng Sir,

Its not that much of a difference between Bilstein and KW. Personal preference. Only advantage that I know is that Bilstein is more rim friendly due to a smaller Spring adjustment plate than the KW.

Cheers!

Both are comparable lah, Beng. I have heard only one shortcoming on KW2 - cannot clear rims like ACS type 2/3 - but not many E92 owners would be using those rims. Besides wheel clearance, KW2 actually has more "thread-counts" - hence can drop more than PSS9. Also, PSS9 tends to have some minor creaks after a while - but hardly noticeable to some. So, both are pretty comparable.

Re: Lowering E92 325i

It is easier to make damping adjustments on a PSS9. It is such a pain in the ass to adjust rear damping for KWs. The rear shocks have to be taken out first.

I shd say KW 2 is below PSS9 in terms of adjustability. KW has a higher model called KW3. KW3 can adjust both bound and rebound. KW2 can only adjust either bound or rebound. Can't remember which is which.

Actually for the E90, the rear adjustment is also rather difficult for the PSS9. You have to take out the lining of the boot to adjust since the adjustment is from the top. But you are right that you do not have to take the entire shocks out.

For the E92, I don't think that u have to take the shocks out right?? Hmm... let me ask Ah Wee!

Correct, need not remove the shocks, but Clarence is correct that the lining has to be removed to adjust the settings......

Re: Lowering E92 325i

Thinking of asking Ah Wee to cutout a piece on each side to access the shock, instead of removing the entire lining.

Not sure about the KW2 though, I am talking about the PSS9.
