Looking for license plate surround

Try the shop that does licence plates at Ubi (block 3005/6). Couldn't recall the name, but it is the first shop at the corner of the junction, next to Traffic Police HQ, parallel to Fong Kim.

Not sure if they have the PML frames, but they definitely carry the BMW or UDM frames.

kenntona,

Do they do customization of the words on the frames? Like change the text. I don't want one that says "PML".
Thanks.

Hi, Tranzy

U can try the shop at Shun Li Industrial at Kaki Bukit. Shop is MRS Signage I think !! Can't really remember.

They have readily made with frame with PML wording cost $10 each (quality good) as I brought from them last year.

Also can customise your preferred wording on the spot. Cost slightly more $$ I think.

Think you'll have 2 choices:

(1) Buy a new frame, depending on your likings versus their product offerings (I'd know they carry the UDM or BMW frames);

(2) Check if they could customise any stickers to cover your PML frame.

This shop does customised stickers as well. You might wanna pay them a visit.

Hope it helps.

johnhiggin & kenntona,

Will have a look at the shops later this week.
Thanks again.

This shop is run by Johnson Soh (hp 9737 5050) and is located at Blk 3005, Ubi Ave 3 #01-50. Johnson also fabricates car decals and have some car logos for sale (especially for Japanese cars).

I have compared the prices by Johnson and MRS and found Johnson to be generally cheaper.

the PML worded ones that comes with the car when you bought it is one of the worst quality ones i've ever seen. sooner or later, the wordings will completely fade away. when u stop behind a bimmer at the lights, you can always see it in various stages of fade. so the best low cost way is to wait a while for the PML letterings to slowly fade away, then ask some sticker shop to cut you any wordings you want for <$5, then paste yourself. sian already, just tear out and paste new wordings.

you can paste "monday", "tuesday", "wednesday" and change daily. guaranteed to have other motorists scratching their heads on whether you really change it once a day.

Hi Bro,
The shop owner for that shop in Ubi is Johnson. A friendly, helpful guy.
The frame you mentioned is called a Euro-Plate casing. It can be customised to place your desired text. So feel free to explore. :)

Anyone here knows a good place to get a customised license plate surround? I'm referring to the nonsense plastic bit that says "Performance Motor Limited" and goes on the border of the car license plate.
Thanks.

Hey!

It has to be Johnson at ubi - 97375050(mobile) or 67482202 (shop).

He is responsible for everything thing that is stuck-on on my car:
My number plate is "BMW cabriolet - sheer driving pleasure" - not a single letter has faded after 6 months

And of course all the race decals on my ride.

Very reasonable pricing, he is very experienced and the quality and workmanship is good!

Cheers!

Thanks guys! I'll have to go look for Johnson.

Is it difficult to remove the surround with basic tools?

Not at all - just need a cross head screwdriver.

Hi guys!

Thanks for the help. I went to Soh Guan Chuan Auto Supply at Ubi (Tel: 67475287). I don't know if this is the Johnson that I should be looking for. It is the corner shop that is in the coffee shop block parallel to Fong Kim. Lots of stickers! Commercial or race/rice stickers.
The casing cost $15 and text is $3 for a reasonable length. I bought 2 casings with custom text. I choose a Porsche look a like font. Fitting them on took 5 minutes and the casings took 1 hour to make.

Yeah bro,
Soh Guan Chuan Auto Supply is Johnson's place. He does heaps of customised stickers of any designs as long as you can supply the EPS, High-res JPG or TIFF file for his reference. My previous ride had all the customised race stickers done by him.
He also did up the license plates and casing for me with customised wordings. 8)
