Hi , i am looking for a E46 318 radiator fan, If u are exporting your car , i can do a swap and top up some $ to u .
I suspect that the fan in my car is weak, if i am caught in a jam for 30 min, the water temp goes up to 3/4 . normal drive no issue .
Is it fan problem?
Pls call me at 91099797 . thanks

Re: looking for E46 318 radiator fan

doubt so, maybe water pump, or lack of water?

see propel auto parts

Re: looking for E46 318 radiator fan

stuck in jam for 30 minutes in this heat, im not surprised your car gets hot!

Sometimes the thermostat module that turns on the fan is faulty, plus the e46 fan is piss weak anyway

Re: looking for E46 318 radiator fan

thermostat i also change already , left fan no change . But the fan is rather expensive . If change can confirm solove the problem i will change a new one , but if change already still can not ... i really crack my head and very sian about the problem.

Re: looking for E46 318 radiator fan

Wat abt the clutch fan OK?? Is there frequent topping up of coolant level??

Re: looking for E46 318 radiator fan

E46 does not have a clutch fan, dont worry.

What brand of water pump did you fit? Ive seen some brands even when new not work at all.

With you car idling, radiator cap removed, soes the water rise up and down?

But i have running for a few thousand KM since i did all those changes , dont think is water pump . if is fail , i dun think i can drive everyday till now ?
The water temp goes up after a long drive and i idle it for more then 30 min , then i will see the rise of the meter. crack head ah ??? :whythis:

Re: looking for E46 318 radiator fan

radiator problems can often be a pain in the ass to diagnose. Are you sure there is no air in the system?

Plus, have to know this. With you car idling, radiator cap removed, does the water rise up and down? If it rises then falls, like a surge, then your head is cracked or head gasket gobe. That can lead to temp problems

you mentioned replacing thromostat. what about the fan thermostat, the one nexct to the radiator that tells the car when to turn the fan on

Sad to say i have already did the head also :( which cause me $1K .
Dont think there is no gas in the radiator .If it does i will have to stop every now and then . As for fan thermostat , i have not change yet .
