Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Hi,
I’m Karen and I am new here.

My C200 is 4.5 yrs old and its time to look for a new car....I was considering a BMW...thus chance upon this site.

I was looking for a 325i cabriolet, but the sales rep said cabriolets are out of stock till next year.

He recommended the 630i coupe.....any views to share with me?

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Hello and welcome to the forum Karen.

My guess is that they have cleared their stock of cabs as the current cabs/coupes are going to be replaced by new models which, the coupes, have just been launched. Cabs will follow soon.

As for the 6-series, i'll let owners of the 6-series to answer your questions.

Hope you get answers from the pple here soon.

Cheers,
Sam

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Well, cos the E46 cabriolets are no longer in production, the new 3 series E92 cabriolet should be launched at Frankfurt this Sep.

The 6 Series Cab are good too! Especially so since they are one of the few cabs in the world to look nice even with the top up!

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Suffice to say I will take the 6 series cab over the 3 series cab anyday. They are in a different league.

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

now is a good time to get the 6 series coupe.... or the cab... the price PML is offering is real good... bargain a bit...and u'll get a price you wouldn't regret....
the 6 series will be slightly more fun to drive than the 3, in stock form... of course, the 3 has more aft markt options la....
its actually all up to ur budget.... :)

you are wrong. the 3 series platform is anytime a more fun platform to ride provided you have a 320 or 325i cab. Its quicker in corners and the car glides with you. The 6 series are raw grand tourers meant for long stretches of road and the minimum capacity for the 6 is 630i which gives abt 258hp. Its alot bigger and alot more modern. Of course, take the 6 series for now as you cant get a brand new e46 cab. Or unless you can wait end of the year and hoot a 325i which to me, sounds like your perfect companion. Its also much easier to park and move around with to start with.

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Is the 6 coupe/cab still going at 260k n 298k respectively?

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

should be able to get a better price than that.... :)

squeeze ur SE on it... can one...boleh.... but i think not much in stock now... left only unwanted colours...

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Nutty, actually they do have, just browse @ their stocklist...got most colours like black, grey, silver and blue....

E46sg, 290k or less including those loan rebates? If not including that'll be a very good price, can share your lobang? Thanks.

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Here's a biased view: I'll take a 3 Series cabrio anytime, cos the 6 is just way too big :p

Both are beautiful no doubt. It's also true that prices for the 6 are coming off, and the new 3 will be out neither soon nor cheap. If you can make do with two seats, there's a new M due here.

So I guess it depends on why you want it, when you want it, and how much you want it for... what a dilemma :yummie:

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Pardon my ignorance. What are the key differences between a 320 cab and a 325i cab please
?

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Key difference is the engine. 2.2L unit vs the 2.5L unit
Both comes with Chrome trims and black headlight inserts.

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Karen,

I saw an ad at the British Club. Expat leaving and selling a silver 325 cabrio. Oct 2004. Black leather seats. Asking S$159k. You may want to call up the Club and ask them to get the contact for you.

Happy car hunting....

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Also contact Mike of Sin Wee Chuan (9107-4888 ) who knows of a black 2003 fully AC-kitted 325 cab for sale......

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

There was a 325 Cab SMG for sale last week in classified, dunno if it's the same as the ones mentioned above...anyway, welcome Karen and post any question if u hv..
Happy surfing.

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

I don't think alot of people can appreciate a SMG Cab. Karen, if you wanna purchase it make sure you test drive it before buying. For myself, I would get it in Steptronic.

Re: Looking for a BMW cabriolet

Thank you everyone, for your great advice.

More questions....
What is a fair value for a 2 yr old Cabriolet 325i?
How do i scrap my 4.5 yr old car, do I need to work with a dealer?
Frankly, had 2 experiences with car dealers, both were bad as they are out to get a big cut. Especially with me, a female driver who knows nuts about car except for driving it.....sigh.....
