Depends. i got the Logic7 as the music i listen to is mainly trance. If RnB is ur forte, you wont enjoy the system. The Logic7 is good enough for me cause the clarity is superb and so is the centre staging. Very natural. I upgraded because i prefer having the unit fitted at factory. If that is not ur concern, for the same price, you can get better setups aftermarket.

If you are an audiophile, Logic 7 lacks the mid-bass. You might find it insufficient.
Then again, if you are an audiophile, you will know that $1K will not get you anything close to a set of good speakers or even headunit.........
I am running on Logic7, cause I dun wanna go through the ICE mods all over again........

Cool....I would like to listen to the Logic 7 system. Hope to get a chance to audit it on ur rides
The original factory unit also seems to lack midbass....but if it is just $1k +, I think it is a good upgrade if u do not wish to mod the ride and risk getting electronic problems and warranty voiding.
Also, Kentonna, congrats on ur autostyling award in Super Import Nights.

Have the L7, love it to bits. It's good enough for me, but heck, it's turned off most of the time coz I prefer the bass from my rear mufflers. LOL
Get it. No regrets.
But if you're comfortable with aftermarket work done to your ICE system, then save the $1k and splash it on something massive.

L7 is aAn active matrix multichannel audio processing system, originally developed by Lexicon® and now used in several Harman products. It converts, or upmixes, two-channel stereo signals into five- or seven-channel signals, allowing listeners to better experience the surrounding ambient sounds that are already in the stereo mixes. AFAIK, Logic 7 supposed to have 13 speakers and a surround sound function for that landscaping acoustic feel - 4 on rear shelf, 2 in rear sides, 2 mid-subs under the front seats, 4 in front doors (2 tweeters), 1 channel in the middle of the dash. The two mid-range subs under the front seats are supposedly the cause of the lack of mid-bass. Also, it sounds better in the E60 than the E92 because of roomspace. Think it is powered by a 420/430 Watt multi-channel DSP amplifier.
Some of the minus points:
Logic 7 is developed by Lexicon of Harman Kardon. Its technology was to convert standard 2-channel audio sources into a convincing 7-channel surround sound playback matrix. In laymen's terms, it is supposed to be heard like your full spectrum home theatre system no matter where you seat. You will alway hear the same frequency as compared to typical stereo system. However, in the coupe, it sounded flat (to me) front in the staging..... just my opinions. Also, speakers cannot compare to the Mark Levinson speakers in the Lexus.
The other negative point is the lack of memory settings for EQ, tone, balance. That means I have to manually adjust the low and high frequencies to levelling out the EQ from low volume to high volume.
The plus point - it is value-for-money for a OEM system. The price you are paying is a fraction of what you can get out there..........

Kenn, am i right to say that its more a surround effect, probably more for DVD experience ?
they upgrade the speakers to component speakers ?
not sure if yours is sounding flat cos of cancelling from the rear speakers
