A dedicated LFA specialist to serve clients - class leading service living up to the Lexus standard

Two Lexus LFAs sold in UK

Europe's only Lexus LFA dealership will be on Park Lane, London - and two UK customers have already placed orders for the £343,000 car.
In total, Toyota UK has predicted it will sell 17 cars, which will be built in two batches for delivery in 2011 and 2012.
The dealership will employ an LFA specialist, who will be charged with looking after all European customers for the car.
However, Toyota insiders have insisted they are not worried about selling the full quota of 500 LFAs that the company has said it is prepared to build.
Instead, they point to the fact that the car has been built to build Toyota and Lexus's image as a maker of exciting cars.
They also concede that the car is unprofitable, even at this price - something not helped by the fact that the car has a carbonfibre tub, and only shreas five parts with any other Lexus or Toyota.

first the car sale is unprofitable. i could not imagine how they stock up parts for 500 cars in the world. let's say some parts could be shared but to which lexus model since this car is unique and purpose built. perhaps every re-ordering part is build-to-order ... kekeke

Even though this car might be Toyota's showcase, it is a collaboration with Yamaha. Without Yamaha, i m doubtful its V10 could produce that much HP/Torque. The last collaboration with Yamaha is Toyota Altezza wif its 3S-GE producing 210hp.

I think the last Lexus/Toyota-Yamaha collaboration was on the IS-F.

thats what i was driving at as well. though the car is very powderful, having to rev it to its red line to acheive its full power is a little extreme???

i have to admit i didnt read very article on the LFA

but i am guessing the max torque isnt anywhere near 9,000rpm
will be much lower
but lexus being lexus, i doubt u find max torque anyway ard 1,500rpm
prob ard 2,500 rpm?

having said that, how many of us in our daily drive do not push it beyond the stated max torque rpm and holds it there?

but if u drive stick, and u like to drag, 9,000rpm is heavenly
that's 1 of the reasons why S2000 sells well too
redline at high rpms

2011 Lexus LFA: First Drive - Lexus LFA - Jalopnik

The car's gestation has taken nearly a decade not because the program had problems or limited resources, but because Toyota decided to design and build nearly every element of the LFA, its first ever supercar, in-house. Where most companies — Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche included — contract out things like gearboxes and the design and construction of carbon fiber components, Lexus chose to teach itself how to make those things better than anyone else, then build its own tools in order to make them.

Take the carbon fiber, for instance. To make the LFA's, Toyota created one of only two circular looms in the entire world, then used it to simultaneously weave one tube of carbon inside another. They built this system just to make the A-pillars on the car.

You DO realise that:

HP = ( Tq * rpm ) / 5252

works for all cars right?
