Anyone know about supercharging the e46 legally on our streets?

227 bhp before supercharging. This should be the cast iron lined m54b30 ...... Solid for supercharging.

The N52 after that no fun..... Soft stuff inside .... Not good for supercharge.

If I remember correctly ... The present day N54 if turn off turbo is below 200 bhp ......

N52B25 is already 218hp , N54 without turbo cannot be below 200hp I think.

Maybe timing not suited for without turbo and the turbo cause drag to the intake and exos

N54 is derived from the M54 so no valvetronic.

OT a bit - It also has a lower compression than the N52 so without the turbos will make less power.

It's been dyno-ed to about 180 ish whp.

N54 without turbo can't outrun N52 ...... Perhaps tuning the N54 without the turbo first and then later with turbo - should get the best of both worlds.

Can legalize supercharger on F10 523i ?
