Leaking Fuel

Hi all. . .

Pertaining to the above i am driving E36 318iS, was topping up petrol across the borders... being greedy i tried to squeeze more and suddenly realize that there was a patch on the floor, when i bend down to see my undercarriage, i saw fuel dripping like nobody business, prior to that i already had bad smell of petrol whenever i pump full tank and now i see fuel dripping.... what could be the possible reasons? any tubes or hoses need change???

I had a loose pipe at my fuel pump area which cause major leak and car stalled juz last week but it had since been fixed.... why still like that.... of coz now car still can drive lah....

anybody experience this before??? what can be done or rather wat muz be done???

send car into garage to check the tank and the connecting hoses

Funnily enough, i know of 2 other E36'rs this happened to only last week. It will be the fuel line from the tank sender. Remove back seat, it's under there

wa.. now fuel price so exp, but u r still leaking petrol.. I will say bring down to a workshop ASAP to get it fixed.. not worth it to run arnd with a leaking petrol.. As wat phil said, probably is the fuel line, which workshops shld be able to fix it up.

hmm... i'm driving a 316 manual... am lucky not to be facing so much problems .. but watever it is.. hope u still like e36... am in love with it

well since u mentioned that u serviced your fuel pump, the next possiblity like what phil said are its fuel pipes. fuel feed line (part 16-12-1-181-130)

I have that problem before as fuel line gets harden due to age and need replacement. Just need to go Eng Soon to get one and ask w/s to fix it up.

Lucky u.... i am not so lucky coz i got a bit of wear and tear to do up....
but of coz i am loving my E36 as well....

not sure abt this, but if u look properly, there's a small hole at the bottom near the oil cap where u fill up your petrol... kinda like a drainage hole!

since u overflowed your fuel pump.. aka pump to the brim yet not skillful enough
so the leakage could be due to this fuel tt overflow....

if got leaks, ur fuel tank will be left with nothing when car is stationary...

I bet my left one it is the fuel line from the pump. Under the back seat

Thanks all, my fuel pump electric socket seeping fuel whenever engine running, change the fuel pump should have anymore problems...............
