Last Servicing with PML

Hi All,

How are you doing? I am driving an E90, currently the mileage is at 57K. I will be having my last PML serving before the warranty expired in Aug. I would like to have some advices on what should I be looking out for in my last servicing. My friend was telling me to check on the oil leak, as this is common problem to E90.

Thank you.

Re: Last Servicing with PML

I bet my last freaking dollar that there is oil leak and chances will be swept under the carpet...Go ask outside mechanic to check first and then send in.....

What I did to my E90 was I sent to Juzz for Cars for an evaluation check before I approached PML... Never trust PML... Btw, PML will try to say everything is fine until your warrenty period over... Their lightsabre will be out... So be tough and persistence on PML...

I have a different opinion, I was driving a Sep 2008 E90 before I changed the car in Nov 2010. I have actually made an appointment for the 48k service with PML. My intention was to do a diagnotics and some tests for the car during the service. I was told that it will cost me a few hundred dollars to do the test and I was thinking of doing it before the warranty expired. If there are parts that failed prematurely, probably can claim with PML since under warranty. I was also preparing to change the transmission oil with outside workshop after the 48k service with PML.

I was planning to keep the car beyond 3 years and I wanted to do the test with PML before the warranty expire. But I doubt I will any warranty replacement as the mileage was only about 48k but since the car is still under warranty, i decided to proceed with the test. I cannot remember what is the test called but the SA at PML should be able to assist.

At the end, it is really your choice.....

Hi Bros,
Thank you for the advice.
Bro Poolfan,
Just wondering if you can remember how much you pay for the diagnostics check?
Thank you

Re: Last Servicing with PML

Hi there,

I did not proceed with the diagnostics test as I have decided to sell the car. I was told that it is a few hundred dollars and you probably would have to leave your car overnight at PML. I am not sure if you have your regular SA at PML. I would recommend that you look for Teo from Alexander, my firend uses him as well and I think that he is pretty good.

I also doubt that there will be much warranty claim as your car is relatively new but for me I would prefer to be safe.

Cheers
Jonathan

Going to PML for the test is like asking a vampire to visit a blood bank .....................

Diagnostic test cost me about S$80+.
I tried Teo before but my opinion of his service.... no good. My engine oil leak, he jack up my car and fingered the engine and insisted nothing leak. I begged him to do a thorough check but he refused. Some days later, i realised my engine oil kept running low. Sent for 3 days repair, thinking should be resolved. But no! My friend's maid complained that i dirtied her car porch. I took a photo and went back to Teo, he checked his system then admitted that nothing was changed during the 3 days repair. Basically my car was there and nothing was done. Super disappointed.

Advice to bros... please insist a report/checklist before and after repairs. I kena BS many times. Nothing was repairs... only grease. Have to make numerous trips before they replace parts.

Not just waste time and energy bro. Each time my car leaves their workshop, i could always spot new scratches on my bodywork. They arent gonna respray. They will only give complimentary polishing. Super sad.

Another point to add. For a few times i drop my car for repairs in the morning. They claimed repair could be done within same day (because i had already complained nothing was done whenever my car was there for 3 days). However i waited until the end of the day, only to be informed that nothing was done at all!! Their reason: They needed time to simulate the faults and record videos!!! They then wanted me to bring my car in on another day!!! It took them whole day to simulate and take video!!! Super pissed with their service!!! Vomit blood.
