Welcome to the forums, Jason!

Wow your CV looks great! Maybe you can help answer a nagging question some friends and i have regarding the E60 523i:

If it is a detuned engine from the 525, what needs to be done to un-detune it back to the 525? Some suggestions were to change the manifolds etc, but there has been no concrete evidence on that.

Care to share your expertise?

Cheers!

Re: landed today in singapore from uk

some of the bmw cars here are different to what we have in the uk

what year are these cars?
what is the standard power and torque of both cars?

you may be able to get the extra power back by remapping the ecu

you can also compare the engines parts by etk online

Re: landed today in singapore from uk

on the 177bhp engine a remap will give an extra 17-18bhp and 20-24nm of torque

Re: landed today in singapore from uk

Hi Jason, good to see a Londoner here. I used to drive past that dealership at Parklane and also thought it's a swanky (i.e. expensive) place. So I ended up bringing the car to HR Owen at Acton. If only I have gone further west!

Enjoy our stay here.

Hi, Jason. I have a 2007- 523i - 2.5 L (2497 cc) I6, 140 kW (190 PS; 188 hp) . What will the ECU remap do to it? I have already installed the Powerbox. Is that the same effect? Sorry, but I am not too technically savvy here.

we tuned one these for a tuning company here the other night that had been tuned by them before which is under test,it did go very well

as for tuning boxes we do not use them in the uk

you would see about 17-18bhp and 22-24nm extra when repmapping the ecu

Re: landed today in singapore from uk

Re: landed today in singapore from uk

thanks sherman im glad you liked it,

the e65 740i was a bit flat to drive as it was abit under powered as a standard car
it must feel a lot lighter now

they dont sell these e65 740i in the uk as we have the 730d and the 745i

have you been out in your mates volvo yet?
