kuantan hyatt drive

hi folks...i hv just booked a holiday to kuantan hyatt on the 19th dec - 22nd dec. its about a 5+ hours drive up the scenic east coast....max speed should be 100kmh type of drive.

now as u may know monsoon season is in full swing...but expect the same type of weather u get here...u may get rain..but there will be more than enough dry time.

the best part....its cheap. about 75usd per night. kuantan hyatt is a lovely hotel. u can book on line here. http://kuantan.regency.hyatt.com

anyone keen to join me? it will be an easy laid back drive for the family...

determined by road conditions...cant be help...i dun wanna be towed back...okok i m posting this cos i scaddy cat..dun dare to go up alone...need company....

Alamak, would love to join u, Kuantan is and will always be one of my favorite places to drive up, the roads are now very nicely laid and beautiful winding/long roads..perfect for our beemers to conquer ! unlike NS highway which can be quiet boring.

Drive at 100kph ??...nah i dun think so mate.....i tried it this June hols, its so exciting for the driver u will sure gun it when the road opens up and when opportunities to overtake permit u will do ....not one but maybe 3-4 cars/trucks in one go ! .

Last time to Kuantan was many years back during my Alfa days. Hence, this looks interesting ...

totoseow, what's the program in Kuantan? What time we drive off? Morning or afternoon? If situation permits, can cheong faster or not? Or have to keep convoy? Can I come back 1 day earlier?

hey taddy..its just me..at this moment...no program...i intend to start b4 7am....if there r more ppl coming i will do a program i guess...meantime its really free n easy. if more comes we will definitely hv to convoy drive. n suppose u can come back as n when u like....chiong up or not..depends on road situation...n whos coming...the usual guys i convoy with i will be quite comfyto go fast..otherwise i rather play it safe. its a long drive mate.

if you are going all the way up the east coast 5 hours might be a bit optimistic. i heard the east west highway from KL is also quite scenic and that would be a quicker drive.

Match made in heaven liao. U both confirmed cheongsters. Am sure u will both reach Kuantan in no time. Convoying in compatible rides is the best.

taddy...i read it takes 4 hours from kl to kuantan.
i will stick to the east coast road...of cos wun b non-stop fly to kuantan...want a relax drive...stop n eat nasi lemak, drink coconut....so how? let me know.

Man, I would definitely love to go but i'm already scheduled to take leave fm 05-11 dec..damn ! Lets try next June hols if time permits.

Take care and do look out for monkeys around the bends n enjoy the drive. Forget abt the NS highway, East coast is way much more enjoyable even if it is 5 hrs, u r after all driving the UDM !! haha

Can't leh. Still cannot find decent dog-sitter. S will be cooped up in Spore. Life is shitty!
