On the way back from a morning out to Sembawang shopping centre and 'kissed' a Hyundai on the CTE. heard the e-brake by the Hyundai ahead & I also brake hard but.....................still not hard enough. sian ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. was still considering to upgrade my brakes or not but guess now confirmed will go ahead with changing them liao!


now, gotta report accident tomorrow (& I supposed to have quite a busy Monday)
also, $$$ flying away as I will have to pay for both the bumper replacement on the Hyundai, as well as repairs to my front bumper (lucky not too serious)

anybody know if BVO or Boss does accident reporting and repairs?? or perhaps there's a recommended workshop to for this?

Check the reverse of your insurance cert, there should be information on where to have the report done.

If u are claiming insurance, u dun have to pay much now. However,
ur premium is going to shoot up next yeAr.

Check the reverse of your insurance cert, there should be information on where to have the report done.

My insurance cert the reverse side is blank......just signed up the policy a month ago & they have not sent me the full policy yet. anyway, will make a check online later.

If u are claiming insurance, u dun have to pay much now. However,
ur premium is going to shoot up next yeAr.

not going to claim from insurance lah because total claims $$ will probably be around the excess anyway. just want put in a report so that I will not be in contravention of the insurance policy. also, best to be able to do it at the workshop for the repairs to be done, so that I don't have to run 2 places.

Hi Bryan,

You must check your insurance policy to determine if you can send to workshop of your choice or to approved workshop. Some have excess (penalty payable) if you send to workshop of your choice.

SWC sure can replace and respray bumper/fender. Your next year insurance premium will go up depending on the amount claims by both side.

Hi Bryan,

Must do your sum carefully..it may be worthwhile to claim your insurance if the damages claim is high...depend on how much NCD you have...

SWC sure can replace and respray bumpers/fenders or replace parts but you dont have to use them for the Hyundai as their service are supposed to be top notch and premium pricing type...can consider for your car.

make a report and submit pictures (print out your own, if any)

i remember there was a case where a sunny make a $17,000 claim for a dent on the front side fender.

not going to claim from insurance lah because total claims $$ will probably be around the excess anyway. just want put in a report so that I will not be in contravention of the insurance policy. also, best to be able to do it at the workshop for the repairs to be done, so that I don't have to run 2 places.

he does. just fixed my friends e90 bumper last week. you may need to replace depending on the damage.

if total repairs lower than what u might need to pay extra shld u claim insurance, better to pay out of own pocket. else u will lose NCD and pay high premium for next few yrs

My claim excess is $1k and I have NCD protection. Had a claim last year and the NCD was not affected, although the renewal premium still went up, in line with general trend in the industry!

If the other party bumper repairs are reasonable to you.... pay her immediately & write out a note stating that between you & her agreed to private settle for that amount...............(include name, nric & car no. plate)............

If she ask for medical claims..... it's ok if it's just a clinic.... at most S$100............. but if she wanted more as in goin to the hospital.....
Personally, i think you shld let her claim your ins........ as claims might goes up to S$2500 for neck pain.............

My father in law had a minor accident with a cab.
Insurance claim was 6k and the cab driver also wanted to claim 7k medical.

There was only a scratch on the bumper.

Maybe she does that for a living..waiting for people to bump her.its pretty easy always jammed brake sure will get a hit......then its pay time.......

I have an accident 3 years ago,,bang by a taxi on my driver door,,,my door badly dented and the taxi only has minor dent and the claim from taxi was 9k ,,lots of parts changed, loss of income...balls pain.. etc etc

The guy running the Ministry of Transport is sleeping .....and some docs are collaborating with lawyers and there is big scam going on...
