Dear gurus, check.with you all ...

lets say the car bumper got scratches and crack like..no paint flake, is it better to just polish off or respray bumper...is is better to keep the original paint ?will the resprayed bumper have paint flake in a few months time?

Especially those spray workshop engaged by used car dealer. I am worried.

crack depends on whether it's clear coat fractures or the base coat has cracked. if clear coat fractures, usually can't polish away unless sand away until the fractures are gone. but this usually mean the clear coat has been sanded down too much (gone).

fine/slight scratches on clear coat can be wet sanded down and then use a good polish to bring back the shine (minus the scratches).

if your paint cracked due to knocks or bumps, then only way is to have a workshop sand away the paint on the damage area, apply putty (if needed) and respray the entire bumper. partial respray might be possible but will be ugly due to fresh paint and original paint fading at different rates after a few years.

Looks like a surface scratch, may not even need to paint. Just polish off the marks. But consult a good site sponsor ws like Revol or Sonax.

Talk to SM Spray paint, one of the site sponsor WS here. They can fix it for you quite cheaply

bro, dnt lose sleep over it..... use some car wax and off it goes...... njoy the ride... cos no matter how u protect and touch up body works.... some idiot will give u problem unless u staying in landed property and ur car dnt leave ur sight..

my car is left with 2 years and I actually wanted to lower and change to 19inch wheels but after reading the entire enclyopedia of this forum...I am now really speculating whether to save the pennies for wheels and standby for the pounds of repairs.

bro, before u do anything, send ur ride to a ss ws to get it check... after you hve a trusty confirmation by them ur ride is ok then u tink of modding ur ride... from the moment u committed to ur ride... u knw then after 8 yrs, wear and tear is inevitable... like wat other bros mention.... every year set aside 3-5k for maintenance... not to mention zhng ur ride...

ask urself, u wan a smooth comfortable for nex 2 years or a sart sart ride dat always break down?
