Hi,

Hope to gain knowledge from all the people here.
Have been driving the past 2 weeks (upgraded from a Japanese car).
I am out of words to compare the difference in the experience!

The handling is awesome as compared to my previous 2 Jap rides.
But it has some white smoke issue currently, which I have found solution in one of the sticky thread.

Hi, I just took over an E90 Dec 2007 last week. Seems to have a bit of smoke issue. Would you mind sharing how you tackle this? Mechanics advised using thicker oil or engine smoke treatment.

Yup. But it is not that bad. Just want to take precaution so it won't deteriorate further.

Anyway, does using thicker oil really help? (5w-50). Seen from forums that the recommended viscosity is 5w-30 or 5w-40. Sincere apologies. I am just starting to understand my new babe (scared of the mood swings) esp. after migrating from the japs.

Go for a top overhaul. I had that problem before with my old e90. 5w50 ain't gonna help much in the long run
