JB4 'Lag'

Hi all, glad there's a more lively performance oriented thread here...
my e92 335i is running JB4 with downpipes, DCI, upgraded intercooler, charge pipes and low temp thermostat...
at hard revs on Auto in either sport or D mode, there's a noticeable 'lag' before an upshift.
this does not seem to happen in S mode manual.

any idea why this happens?

thanks in advance!

Re: JB4 'Lag'

Reset the transmission adaptations already ?

Sort of like a flat spot ?

And if you switch jb4 to map 0 - still the same ?

uh... how to do that??
i did have my DCT oil recently changed at PML due to a leak...
don't think they'd bother to reset anything but i have the say the gearbox felt better after.
yea, map 0 is ok (last i checked) so that's why suspect JB4...

any other things to look out for?

Re: JB4 'Lag'

How come I didn't have this problem? Oh ...wait...its good not to have this problem...kekeke

On an OT note, I feel like removing by DCI and replacing it with stock intake snokle, so that when TP pull me over and pop the bonnet, I can say "you see, everything here is stock leh. You got hearing problem lah pak, better go check your ear and stop stalking my 335 hiadees" :)

Re: JB4 'Lag'

just verified, happens on maps 1 and 2 and NOT when JB4 is disabled...
also, when switching to map 0, car throws a 'maximum power not available error'....
ideas?

Since Map 0 is a bypass for JB4 when the error occurred - You need to scan the ride for error or shadow codes then you can pin point where the problem is ....

Re: JB4 'Lag'

so i disable 'clear codes on start' in JB4 and have it checked?
the error goes away when JB4 is re-enabled and car drives ok...

Re: JB4 'Lag'

When it goes to map 0 - it allows the OBD diags to happen. So if there is an underlying problem - it will start to show.

Switch to map 0 then Use a diagnostic sw to scan for fault codes. Then let us know what you see .....
