It looks familiar....
The power specs stated there were all wrong, they are 997 Mk1's

yes, it's either 355HP (pre 2004 MY) or 381HP (post 2004 FL). This should be the 381 one ... if its 355 then it is a imported recon.

Re: Is there anything wrong with this GT3?

S.A car as it says so it's really a used car bought locally.
Pay a bit more, high 300s perhaps..u can get a used PI 997 version, 1yr old :)

Re: Is there anything wrong with this GT3?

That is a used SA Mark 2 996 GT3. i.e. 381 bhp.

And there is nothing wrong with the maths. As tripM says, the 997 GT3s have all come down in price so this will also be squeezed downwards.

BTW, brand new PI Cayman S (3.4) tips are going for below 220k at the moment so it really isnt at Cayman S pricing.

If you are comparing it to a Cayman S from SA, For that money, you prob can get a nicely speced 3.6 PDK car which in most circumstances, will be as quick(mechanical rear diff and all) as this car and much easier to live with.

Frightening how progress makes the performance specs redundant so rapidly.

Not saying that the PDK Cayman S is better than a Mk2 996GT3. There is certainly a higher degree of satisfaction (for some anyway) from wringing the neck of a GT3 and extracting a good lap time....

Re: Is there anything wrong with this GT3?

yes I concluded that it was an OK price only after a more extensive market survey. A PDK Cayman S will be more comfortable to drive daily than a Mk 2 996 GT3 that I am sure. But I agree with you absolutely that extracting a good time from a powerful, non-TC non-PSM rear engined monster does offer a good measure of satisfaction.

As for wringing the neck, try a Cayman 2.7 manual and that's as much wringing blood from a stone.

You should try my old lady...

Also a 2.7 manual but with technology that is 30 years older... A real sweatfest....

the Cayman 2.7 is real modern handling car and is consistent and don't do stupid things, but it's challenging to improve and improve with limited HP - I mean it in a positive way, it's really fun to do. And its cheap to fix. Your old lady I'd respect it too much to wring its neck.
