Re: is the car battery being charged...?
bought some ice stuff but yet to install 'cos worried about battery condition.
had very bad experiences with my current jap mpv which i installed some heavy ice. this jap mpv has "electrical load detection" (eld) system designed in. alternator charging only happens if engine speed is above certain rpm. even when the mpv is cruising on the expressway, and engine rpm drops below the "setting", alternator will not charge... was told by workshop mechanics that this electrical design is to reduce fuel consumption. sigh! in three years, i have replaced six car batteries. brands like amaron pro, varta silver, efx & odyssey also kaput. also did the "big 3" electrical upgrade to the mpv including a 140-amp alternator, but no go.
