Is it worth the effort to import body kits yourself?

Mainly from ebay.
Can probably save about $1k plus on say... front bumper + side skirts + side fenders + rear bumper. That's about 30% savings after all the freight charges and installations and paint.

But my biggest fear is the kits will not fit. Is there a big difference in fitment between the pre-LCI and LCI E92? The ebay sites usually say no difference, but out body kits shops here say there is a difference...

Any advice? :)

If the seller says sure fit, u buy

U bring to ws, the ws says cannot fit.

Seller may say:
1. We sold 1000 kits no complaints, its your ws who messed it up; or
2. We sold so many kits no problems, we are not liable for anything after it left our warehouse

WS will say: Seller problem not ours, you sort it out with him

You, the buyer: Drive to East Coast beach to look very far

Original parts or knock-offs?

Just get it done here to avoid fitment issues.

There was at least one case where overseas order came in, sideskirt couldn't fit. And this is real aftermarket parts from Germany, mind you. Middlemen/reseller couldn't do anything. Workshop had to cut the sideskirts and patched back......

A others have mention before, lots of kits have fitment issues. Not worth the hassle and risk, especially via eBay.

Overseas sellers for big ticket items risky. They can say anything they want.

Even locals u need to be careful already. Last time got one former here claimed his kit real but turned out its replica. People all say he XIAO lang, PANG chao pui.

Police case ok

Seller report police. Not the buyer hahaha cos the forum did a SMRT (Feedback) on him
