Hi all

Really keen to get the stock HU to charge my iPod and display the songs details. With either getting the PML solution or changing the whole HU with a iPod compatible one with benefit of better sound source, this is another thingy I've heard fellow owners have installed in their rides at Sin Kit, costing only 200plus:

I have an aftrmarket ipod kit. But not sure if it will work on e90s. Its from a company call Dice.

One thing you have to mindful of is that if you install this adapter, your CD changer will be "de-commissioned" as the iPod will effectively take over its function.

I simply buy a cable to connect my iPhone to the AUX. If your speakers have been upgraded, the sound quality is not bad at all.

One thing you have to mindful of is that if you install this adapter, your CD changer will be "de-commissioned" as the iPod will effectively take over its function.

pengful I'm keen but wonder if it enables actual ipod song detail displays on HU and steering wheel scolling controls, and whether it supports chinese characters, besides charging it. Too much to ask?

No. I believe it will purely be control from the iPod only.

I hear from the sound shops (not just 1) that there'll be a new ipod integrator kit tat's canbus-compatible, ie allowing control from the steering wheel, coming in the 1st qtr. may wish to wait out for that..

I think there are several brands that can do this already.
One thing after installation, you need to update your car system so that it can recognise the new hardware installation.

Average cost fo the device from US is US$899 and it comes with bluetooth connection to your mobile phone.

US$549 for iPod only. Wonder if it can display Chinese characters (like on the iPod screen)? Any idea which shop in Singapore sell this?
