its always been the case

The first cayman to land in USA was specced by Porsche North America. Had some basic stuff like TPMS, 19 inch, Xenon and some small bitz and pieces, it MSRP at $66k

You could walk into North America dealer and get a dealer to sell you a 997(regardless of options) for close to wholesale.

The USA market is very different from the global market.....The Cayman is a great car, and I enjoyed mine for the 6 months I had it, however I only think its great if it serves dual purposes.....but for its size and sole purpose as a sports car/b road...I think there are better options...

The Porsche dealer near my house sells about 20 Caymans per month.... Whenever I'm there I would always see the dealer taking customers out for a test drive every friggin day, winter or summer
