imbalanced diamond vision

hi all,

after fixing angel eyes and changing the bulb to philips diamond vision. one side is "brighter" than the other. is it installation problem or the bulbs are not balanced?

are these normal?

Re: imbalanced diamond vision

Hi hitmee,

If I remember correctly, the left side should look brighter because it's tilted slightly higher. This is to facilitate the luminating of exit signs along the roads.

Re: imbalanced diamond vision

my driver side (right side) is brighter.
if compare to the left, it is like the right is "high beam" and the left is not.

so i have to lower the angle of the lights, to make them more balanced.
i used to choose the setting that can shine further.

Re: imbalanced diamond vision

hi hitmee,

Not sure if this is due to left-hand-drive specs. I noticed the right side being higher in the reflection too, but I remembered our exit signs are on the left. In either cases, it's is normal for the bulbs to appear unevenly tilted - and not the fault of the bulbs. :)

Cheers.

Re: imbalanced diamond vision

I hav e same plbm...later..tot.heck.kinda unique..not big safety issue..still bright ,,can see....
I think its QC plbm..after philips shifted all to Korea.

Re: imbalanced diamond vision

but stock bulbs got no such issue.

so can i say this is normal?

Actually those of you with the same problem can get together and swap bulbs maybe will solve the problem, hehe..

Re: imbalanced diamond vision

The head lamps should never look the same from the same eye point level. The left head lamp aims a little to the left and it is slightly higher. The right head lamp aims straight forward and a little lower to provide immediate illumination infront of the driver. You can adjust these headings yourself but i recommend that most cars can be left as is. After an accident though or removal of the headlamp asemblies, the alignment may run. Especially so if there is a head lamp replacement. (New headlamp assemblies are not adjusted in any way).

to align your head lamps you will need a torx screwdriver, a piece of vanguard sheet and a very dark flat space. While you cover 1 head light, adjust the other for direction and elevation. Repeat for the other side. Mostly i would recommend that you just leave it alone.

Cheers
