How do you:
1. Use a keyboard? Compact one? Store where?
2. Mouse - you have wireless one and a pad?
3. Internet connection - via GPRS or wireless hotspots?
Endless possibilities. You can have navigation, check realtime www.streetdirectory.com, access the worldwide internet database wherever you are, play DVDs, MP3s from HDD, customize software and have display screens to display engine oil temp, water temp, exhaust temp, consumption, vacuum level, A/F ratio etc. In fact, for audio DSPs like the Sony XDP4000, you can tune time alignment, EQ etc from there coz ordinarily you would need a laptop to do it.
Maybe resolution of the screen needs to be lower, so you can see bigger characters?

yeah... i got a few options with my input devices... currently i have these..
1. touchscreen on the LCD
2. onscreen keyboard
3. small size keyboard wired or bluetooth store in glove box
4. rf remote cum mouse .... (for rear passenger to change songs,etc)
internet connection can be wifi or gprs or umts (3G) ...
in the next 2 weeks i'll put a GPS device into the car... i already have one... i'll just have to dig it up... hahahah
i've setup the SQ ... and its not bad... better than the original HU... got 5.1 surround sound + time correction ....
i got a whole bunch of my CDs stored in the harddisk with the highest no loss quality ... ripped.....
Oh I wrote the software to integrate with the mutlifunction steering wheel control to control volume, track, mute on the Mac Mini.
I've had so many requests, who wants to install something like that. I will do it for a reasonable fee?
Oh, did I add that you need a special power supply. And I'll need to modify your Mac Mini so it'll work in the car... startup and shutdown based on your ignition status... and also protects your battery from overdrain until you cannot start your car? And a couple of custom circuits to do all the funny stuff, I'm still doing more to improve the install and eliminate interference on the audio...

Yes, I will be doing installs on non-BMW cars as well. Except that multifunction steering wheel support is only for the e46, e39 and maybe e36. ... e60 and e90 not yet... i'm looking for a way to tap in....

Fantastic! One though thing, you also gotta make sure the electronics are all ext temp... automotive applications ain't easy on the hardware.
