IDrive doesn't engage sometimes

Hi Bros, mine is a 07 523i, and lately I have noticed that when I engage P on my drive sometimes it takes awhile to go into Park. Also likewise when I shift from Drive to Reverse the reverse gear doesn't engage till I push it to R a second time. My mileage is 50k but car just out of warranty. Anyone knows what it could be? Btw I'm changing my ATF on Monday so could that help?

My E60 is also same year as yours, experienced some gear shift problem as well last year. Luckily was still under warranty, send to PML and they did a software upgrade or refresh something like that. Problem solved. 50k for ATF change is timely and any of the site sponsors here that specialised in servicing BMW should be able to do the software upgrade for you.

Thanks bro for info. I will try to get more info from the guys doing my ATF change. I was just hoping its not gear box issue cos I heard that will cost a bomb. Thanks again
