hee hee.. sometime pay a bit more for good workmanship is worth the money lah... I remember my first car... the car alarm go to ah kow shop fix....

When the alarm spoil, i go pin liang for replacement.. they pull out the wire... one lump of mess.... had to cut everything and rewire them....

after that, i don't mind paying a bit more... as long as these people knows what they are doing...a nd bundle it up neatly

pay a premium for installation skills is totally worth it.

pay almost double the price for the same hardware is crazy.

lately, i decided to install basic ICE setup & had made comparison on pricing by those installers recommended in the thread discussion & others recommended by friends.
after much consideration, i decided to install at 'New Generation' & their quote doesn't seem to be almost double the price for the same hardware.
In fact, some of the hardwares price they quoted is the same as the others.
Btw, i dun hv vested interest in 'New Gen' & it was my first visit to their workshop.

Agreed!!! Each has their preference of installers and most important is that u have to be comfortable with the guys doing the install.

Anyone who just changed speakers alone ? Whats the feedback ? I'm tired of all the cutting, aeroplane sound and spending time tuning the ICE.

I tot of just changing to the Focal speakers. I saw from HG that they have a coupl of set going for $850. Anyone any feedback ?

Piggy,

U changed to e90 or e92? I am on Focal KP2 and they are pretty good. Vocals are clear but some may find it too sharp coz of the metallic cones. At $850, can't be the top end Focals. Likely to be KP2 or lower range.

ya Focal tends to be too bright for most people.

Piggyboyz, u may wanna take a listen to T6's before committing.
But if its e90 and u dont cut the door.... the midbass still suffer bigtime.
