I-Pod Touch compatibility

Hi Friends out there ,

Just to share with you guys that recently i have upgraded my Ipod classic 80GB which was connected to my car w/Logic7 to the Ipod Touch(the one that looks like the Iphone) in my ride. To my surprise ,after using for 1 week in my car , the battery on the I-pod Touch went flat. You know what , the I-pod Touch never got charge via the cable in my car. It actually indicate that "charging is not support via this accessories" or something like that. I called PML and still waiting for their reply.

I got the same error message when I used an aftermarket travel adapter which can charge my older iPod video but cannot charge my new latest generation iPod nano.

It appears that charging by older aftermarket accessories is not supported for the newer generations of iPods. But when I used an Apple travel adapter, it charges successfully.

Chances are, if you have an iPod integration system from a few years back, it will not be compatible with the iPhone 3G, Nano 4G, or Touch 2G, which can't be charged by Firewire power. The Scosche Passport is one of the first shipping solution to this problem, an adapter that negotiates power, audio and video from new iPods to car iPod hookups. That purpose alone is pretty cool, but we think that it might work to make old iPod docks compatible as well. We'll get our hands on one to test, but until then, you can preorder yours to ship later this month for $30.

Where to get this Scorche adaptor ? I just upgraded my Nano to the 4G version and was very disappointed that it didnt get charged by my 5er ipod interface
