I have a dream…..CARnival Singapore 2009
A car community, car club and car enthusiasts show……….
A car event where car enthusiasts and car owners gather together to display their modded cars, classic cars, exotic sports and share their experiences…
Venue: At an open air venue such as Kallang car park or the Padang, large enough to accommodate hundreds of cars and exhibitors.
Two main categories:
Main category: the cars on display (by the owners), grouped by brand e.g. BMW section, Porsche section, Audi section, Honda section, Nissan, Toyota, Benz, etc. Within each brand section, you could have current models, past models and classic cars.
Supporting category: Exhibition and sales booths for aftermarket suppliers of mods, etc. Like our sponsors such as BVO, J4C, rim suppliers, body kits, brakes, etc. Also for car clubs to recruit members and publicize their club
Race Queen category: Self explanatory (Had to put this category in mainly for the benefit and pleasure of the key members of the BMW.SG forum)
In the car display category, you could award prizes for the best modded car, best classic car, etc.
In the Race Queen category, judging is reserved solely and exclusively for key members of BMW.SG forum. Judging criteria of the performance of RQs is at the sole discretion of the said BMW.SG members.
The show is aimed at car owners and their cars and aftermarket suppliers unlike Singapore Motor Show which is aimed at new car buyers and the car manufacturers.
Funding: By entrance fee, by supplier booth rental, advertising space at the show, show sponsorship. Display car owners would not be charged a fee to encourage participation.
Timing: To coincide with the Singapore F1 week. Add to activities of the festive week of the Singapore F1. Provide another attraction for visitors to the Singapore F1.
Length of show: During one weekend. Perhaps the weekend before the F1 race.
Would this be possible?
With the support of the various car clubs and car communities in Singapore, and selling the idea to an event organizer, can be done.
So now, just need to sell the idea to someone......
